There was a lovely mature canopy for us to work under for this garden but the understory needed some rejuvenating and care. Shady gardens often create their own mysterious ambiance which we complimented using a selection of native shade-loving plant species. A gully running through the backyard meant there were some water issues but with some small modifications we were able to redirect the water running off under a timber boardwalk bridge. Paths wind through the ‘rooms’ of this secret garden leading to featured Corten steel rods that also support climbing plants and a fire pit and seating area.
