We love a muddie!

Nillumbik is renowned for the many mudbrick homes throughout the outer suburban Green Wedge shire so when we have the privilege to design a garden around one of these places we always do so in a way that respects the heritage, culture and aesthetic of the muddie!

Natural materials, native and indigenous plants, and spaces for play, or just soaking up the view have all been thoughtfully incorporated into the new landscape. Existing garden beds that have been retained have been rejuvenated and infill planted, while new garden beds are retained with basalt boulders and have been loaded up with a diverse mix of some of our favourite Aussie natives.

There was plenty of space for creativity on this project enabled by the trust in our vision by the client. That saw elements emerge from the process - including the recycling of old logs into steppers and the rope bridge that spans the dry creek bed - a functional plan, but done with a bit of flare!

We can't wait to watch this garden grow in over the coming years and will be checking in regularly. The gallery will be updated periodically, so check back in from time to time!
