We often do partial landscapes for clients who like to do some of the work themselves. This was a great example of a skilled horticultural client who employed us for the removal of the existing landscape, construction of the poolside paving and fence, and installation of the boulder retaining wall. This provided the client with planting nooks in and around the rocks, creating micro-climates suitable for growing a huge diversity of native species – from Western Australian wildflowers to sheltered sub-tropicals. Everyone loves a good plant nook, but a skilled horticulturalist knows how to best utilise them. The growth evident in this garden is certainly proof of that!
