Completed 2021

This Hurstbridge design & construct of ours provides ample opportunity for entertaining friends, family & neighbours whilst simultaneously being a space that shelters, protects & nurtures.

On a steep, south facing block there was a need to create terraces and landings for accessibility, functionality and communal gatherings. The snaking stone wall separates the upper and lower levels, with native shrubs and fruit trees growing up to provide easy pickings.

The deciduous grape vine on the rustic solid timber arbor gives much needed shade in the Summer months while allowing the light to flow through in Winter.

Sawn mudstone steps provide easy access to a productive patch, with raised vegetable planters, espaliered fruit trees and herbs for the young family to tend to and harvest the abundance.

At the bottom of the front yard, a lawn area retained by large mudstone boulders, provides space to run and play for the kids (and two GSPs!), while native shrubs and ground-covers attract pollinators and other wildlife looking for a snack - while the pizza oven does the same for the guests at this garden built to entertain and unwind.
