This project completely transformed what was a challenging site into an inviting and usable space for the whole family. By terracing along contour lines with large boulders, the team was able to create multiple level areas for the clients to utilise for entertaining, growing vegetables, exploring the garden, and more. Connected by wide, rustic recycled timber sleepers, these terraces hugely improved the access and usability of the landscape. Initiating play was particularly important to this young family. The inclusion of lawn space, a sandpit, and boulders & logs arranged with play in mind, have turned this steep slope into natural playground for all. A fully native planting palette provided the finishing touches, tying the garden into the surrounding landscape, and ensuring the local wildlife don’t miss out on all the fun.
