Master Plan endorsed for Eltham Gateway Project

Updated: Nov 8, 2022

UPDATE 8/11/2022: Animated landscape master plan supplied by Nillumbik Shire Council.

The Nillumbik Shire Council has officially endorsed ID Landscaping's master plan for the Eltham Gateway Project. ID Landscaping were applauded for their "agility" and "ability to spin plates" in delivering the project plan on schedule, despite a number of variations being made since the previous consultation period. The Eltham Gateway Project will revitalise the southern entrance to the Green Wedge suburb - often considered the point in which the city meets the bush. As a partnership between Council, Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV), and State Government (through the advocacy of Eltham MP Vicki Ward, and the Southern Gateway Renewal Group - SGRG), a collaborative and flexible approach to the design process was required.

Mayor of Nillumbik Frances Ayre applauded the collaborative approach.

“This is a unique opportunity to create a beautiful, welcoming and iconic entry to Eltham and the Shire,” Cr Eyre said.

ID Landscaping managing director, Liam Riley, was excited to have the unanimous support of the SGRG and Shire Councillors for the plan after a thorough process of feedback and revisions.

"We are proud to have been involved in such a collaborative and community-driven process to re-imagine the Eltham Gateway and we look forward to seeing the community's vision realised," he said.

The Eltham Gateway Project will be funded by MRPV and Nillumbik Shire Council.

The project is expected to be completed in early 2023.
