The essentials:

Garden and Landscape Maintenance Manager

4-5 days a week. STILL ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS!


Due to an ever-expanding portfolio of works and demand from clients ID Landscaping is looking to bring a Landscape Maintenance Manager with solid garden and horticultural experience into the fold. You will be a motivated and organised individual who loves working with native plants and producing excellent outcomes for clients based on their individual requirements.

The selected candidate will bring a wealth of experience in garden maintenance and horticulture and a sound knowledge of plants and their needs - particularly our local natives!

Reporting to the Project Manager and working with the Project Team, the Landscape Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the successful establishment of a dedicated maintenance division within the company. Unprecedented demand from new and long-term clients has created an exciting opportunity to play an active role in the growth of an established local business.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of maintenance works across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and civil projects.

  • Assist the Project Manager with plant procurement, plant set outs and revegetation planting when required.

  • Develop and implement maintenance management plans with exceptional knowledge of plant species, their traits, requirements using best-practice horticultural and environmental techniques including the appropriate use of herbicides.

  • Complete OH&S documentation and ensure SWMS are up to date and signed on by all employees and ensure a regimen of daily checks and routines are incorporated into the team work ethic.

  • Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are in good condition and working order through proper use and routine maintenance.

  • Provide updates and maintain job records for maintenance works and forecast future resource requirements so they can be scheduled by the Project Team.

  • Liaise with clients where necessary to keep them updated on the implementation of their management plan and relay any requests to the Project Team.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum CertIV in Horticulture with three years post-qualification experience in gardening and landscape maintenance or CertIII with 5 years post-qualification experience.

  • Construction White Card or ability to obtain one.

  • Australian Chemical Users Permit and experience in the safe-use of herbicides.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.

  • Experience in managing clients and supervising a small team.

  • An exceptional knowledge of plants – particularly native plants – including weeds and their controls.

  • A positive attitude and good role model for younger employees and apprentices.

  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office is preferred.

Love landscaping but can't commit full time? Thrive on teamwork but can also knuckle-down and self-motivate? We are on the lookout for suitably qualified landscapers for employment on a casual basis. With a large pipeline of residential and commercial projects, suitable candidates may choose to take on a more permanent position in the future. This role would be great for a landscaper who has a lot of experience, but who has other priorities they now have to juggle and is only looking for 2-3 days work per week. This is a physically demanding but also diverse position. Sometimes you may be required to run barrows, or mix paving mud, others you will be planting or mulching garden beds. Responsibilities and working autonomously will be dependent on the demonstrated experience of the successful candidates.


Essentials

  • Work well independently and in a team

  • Take work instructions from the site supervisors and managers

  • Work in safe manner, adhering to all OH&S procedures

  • Experience in landscape construction (landscape labouring and horticultural/maintenance experience will also be considered).

  • Construction White Card or ability to obtain it.

  • Physically fit and able to undertake bouts of strenuous activity

  • Bobcat/Excavator/MR license would be a bonus
